The Holiday season is upon us and even though it’s a busy time of the year don’t forget to grab your phone and snap lots of photos for scrapbooking once December is over. And while pictures are the main focus of scrapbooking using words, titles, journaling and sentiments are very important too. A simple phrase can capture the mood of a layout, journaling lets everyone know what’s happening or how you where feeling, large titles can add a festive touch to your designs and words and sayings can also be used like embellishments, layered, clustered or scattered about the page. Today let’s take a peek at some Christmas and Holiday scrapbook layouts that use lots of words.
Below each photo you’ll see a link, click it for more details like products used and techniques.
This large title almost fills the page and is not only words but also has botanical accents all in the shape of a Christmas tree. Jackie backed her open die cut title with various patterned papers, tucking her photo in on one side. Visit the Paige Taylor Evans blog for more details.
This beautiful magical layout features a large stacked title for dimensions mixed with a sentiment and hand written letters as well. Over the row of wintery houses there’s also another sentiment too. I adore all the depth and dimension on this design from Kerstin! Learn more on the Pinkfresh Studio blog.
This holly jolly Santa layout has lots of magnificent mixed media elements like acetate, chipboard, rub ons and lace. And there are phrases scattered every where like on the pattern paper and in chipboard form. Take a closer look on the 49th and Market blog.
Jackie die cut tabs on the edges of some of her layers of pattern paper so she could add some words. She also used alphabet stickers to create her own title, added a date stamp and some hand written journaling as well. She breaks it all down on the Hey Little Magpie blog.
This sweet digital layout used the “O’s” in Holly Jolly for circular photos of a cute kitty cat, there’s even ribbon and twine to also make them also look like ornaments too, so clever! I spotted this page on Tanteva’s gallery at Scrapbook.com.
One fun way to add titles and sentiments to your pages is with stamps. They are easy to customize by using them with different inks and stamping them in your own way like this wonderful block of sentiments that also has typed journaling and a stamped tab on the other page. Visit the Kerri Bradford blog for a closer look.
I love the funny die cut title on this sweet layout. The title and die cut light bulbs are all backed with pattern paper that stand out on the darker background. There’s also a little sentiment tucked into the cluster on the bottom corner. I spotter this on the Morrison_Family gallery on Scrapbook.com.
This fabulous page has lots of texture and dimension from foiling, flocking, pom-pom trim, stenciling and stamping. There’s a die cut title along with little word strips created with more dies and stamping. Learn all about this design on the Therm O Web blog.
This lovely layout has a large JOY for the title and check out the “O” created with strips of different pattern papers, so pretty! There’s also a large handwritten journaling card between the photos. Find directions on the Creative Memories blog.
This pretty pocket page has space for slipping in journaling cards for lots of extra room to write. I love the acrylic title and there’s lots of other sayings in strips, buttons, tabs and more all over this design. Take a closer look at the Bramble Fox blog.
And lastly this amazing December daily pocket page has lots of gold foiled words over the photo on the pocket and lots of wording on the tags tucked inside. This is another great way to include interactive design and loads of space for journaling. I spotted this on byrachelhart’s Instagram page.
I hope you’ve found lots of inspiring ideas to add titles, words, phrases and journaling to your Christmas and Holiday layouts this year!
