Capture all the love of family and friends with lots of hearts on your Valentine’s Day scrapbook layouts. Hearts are the perfect icon of love and are a simple but effective way to show how much you love someone or something on a layout. Use large hearts to fill the page or smaller hearts for accents and backgrounds. Plus hearts aren’t just for Valentines they also work for anniversaries, weddings and lots more. Dorymar created this pretty two page spread with pocket pages. One side has printed journaling cards and the photo, the other has a printed floral heart and she’s added popped up sentiments over top. Take a look at more of her min album pages at the Simple Stories blog.
Flora made a beautiful paper woven heart from blue pattern paper as the focal point of this lovely layout. There’s also flowers tucked around the edges and lots of wooden shapes like leaves, stems, strip sentiments and the title. I came across her idea on her Flora M Farkas Instagram page.
Paige die cut and stitched around lots of pattern paper hearts to create rows on her layout. She also cut the two photos from the same heart and added accents like stickers and embellishments in each heart including some journaling. This fun layout from Melissa has a wonderful border made of tags, hung from twine and stapled to the page. The die cut tags have lots of fun hearts made with stamps and stickers. There’s also text stamped around the edges of the photo. I came across her idea on the Elle’s Studio Instagram page.
Niki created a grid of hearts using new pattern papers from Simple Stories, distressing the edges of each one and placing them in rows. The center heart has a photo and the other photos, words and journaling are placed over other hearts. She used small embellishments to fill in some of the white space in the background too. She backed a heart die cut with rainbow striped paper adding two clusters of flowers and butterflies and stacked papers behind the photo. She die cut a large heart, stitched around the edge and added a big bunch of small strips of pattern paper for a fringe effect around the edges.
