A great way to use of small scraps of pattern paper is creating custom backgrounds like Nathalie did here with die cut circles, these have a faux stitched edge to add extra texture too. Christmas is coming soon and hopefully you’ll be able to spend some quality time with your family. These are perfect times to gather together around the tree or table and snap some wonderful photos with the entire family. These pictures capture those precious memories we can add to our scrapbook layouts so let’s take a look at lots of terrific ideas for Family Christmas Pages!

Jessica used lots of die cut stars that were stitched down, sentiment strips and round embellishments to create an amazing dynamic background for her layout. You’ll find a link to her process video on The Cherry on Top blog.
Here’s another layout with lots of layering in the background. Jackie cut a large circle of pattern paper in half and shifted it for added interest, then used long strips with different prints vertically along the split. I love how Gloria hung ornaments from twine on this fabulous family Christmas layout! She fussy cut those ornaments from pattern paper and also added 3D circle “ornaments” she made from pattern paper too. There’s also chipboard flags and frames for even more dimension. Pictures with Santa are another great way to gather the family together! For her Santa pic Heather used a large floral Christmas wreath, tucking the mated photo offset inside. Lisa used plaid red ribbon to section her background into a grid and it looks like a wrapped gift! I love the tree decorating photos with the family in silhouette but the tree shining brightly! Crazy, curling strands of lights were die cut for the background of this amazing layout. Inessa backed each bulb with different pattern papers for lots of color. Nothing’s better than taking photos as a family for babies first Christmas! This adorable layout uses a vintage inspired distressed paper for the background with lots of layers of other patterns forming a lose + design. There’s also some lace and floral accents tucked in there too. I spotted this idea on the Uniquely Creative Gallery.
Stephanie created rustic borders top and bottom for her Christmas page by tearing pattern paper, that white edge is so reminiscent of snow.
