Scrapbooking, if it’s honest, is a small window to our inner most thoughts and a reflection on the things that matter the most to us. Think about the pictures you carry around in your wallet or on your cell phone right now…. They aren’t in an album, aren’t really framed, probably not mounted on coordinating patterned paper or even embellished yet, they tell a story. They are memories you want to remember, revisit, carry around with you, and share. In my husband’s wallet, he has the pictures of our kids (when they were newborns (yes, they are 7,6, and 4 now)) and the picture of me when we were dating (bless him for that, I ALWAYS want him to think of me looking that young). When he pulls those pictures out to show folks, despite the age cracks, frayed edges, and creases, he beams with pride as he tells all those familiar stories that go with them. Scrapbooking has always been about the stories and that deep human need to connect and tell those stories with others. It starts with a picture, a quick snapshot of something that touched us at the particular moment and ends in our own special way of remembering it….whether it is in an album, on the wall, in our cell phones, online, in our wallet or in the pocket of our book bag…..
