Tutorial | DIY Gift Card Holders And Free Silhouette Cut Files

December 5, 2014 by Francine Clouden

Giving gift cards this year? Use these free Silhouette cut files and instructions from Pitter and Glink to make cut out gift card holders where a pattern from paper or washi tape, shows though the silhouette. Once you cut out the card template Bethany expalins how to put it all together.

I am a big fan of gift cards, I know lots of people find them impersonal but being able to purchase what YOU need or what YOU want is far more logical than receiving random gifts and stocking fillers that you may not use. Especially with all these Netflix programs telling us to downsize, declutter and or course Konmarie everything.

The only disappointing thing with gift cards is not being able to shop for items, if you are like me and enjoying shopping for special gifts then maybe consider shopping for smaller stocking fillers or fun ways to wrap or gift the gift cards. You can present or gift a gift card in a fun and special way too.

One year I added the gift cards to some pretty wide mouthed water bottles that have been filled with little trinkets. We also featured this Giftcard Christmas tree idea on the blog here.

Travel Tag Mini Scrapbook Album

Travel Tag Mini Scrapbook Album

Andrea used the Fun Times collection from Simple Stories to create this fabulous mini Travel Tag album. She even found a cute tiny plastic suitcase to fit it inside of, decorating the outside with a few chipboard elements and a scalloped border.

The album itself has different siezd and shaped pages, some rectangle, some tag shaped, some with scalloped edges but all stitched around the edges. It’s held together at the top with a metal “O” ring.

The pages have 3″ x 2 1/2″ photos that are accented with metal buttons, vintage cameras, floral and map papers, chipboard embellishments, tabs, labels and travel related designs in fun retro color combinations.

She’s even included some fun interactive pages too for a really cool tiny but mighty album design.
