12 Summer at the Beach Scrapbook Layout Ideas

Wendy’s beachy layout has a bold splash of yellow ink on the background with layers of summery pattern papers, some torn and some distressed. She’s added a row of 5 photos with fun clusters of embellishments like Tropical flowers, shells, clouds, palm trees and a flamingo. I love the bright title made from thick acrylic with a label for journaling below. Learn more at the Hey Little Magpie blog.

When I was growing up my Dad didn’t think it was a Summer vacation unless we visited a beach, so I’ve been to many and I have a deep love of the beach and ocean. If you also enjoy a journey to the seashore than you’ll want to check out todays scrapbook layout ideas filled with tropical embellishments, sun bursts, summery color schemes and wavy borders to inspire you to scrap your own Summer excursions to the beach.

Jules’ layout has a large circle cut from blue pattern paper with a colorful shell stenciled pattern placed behind with sewing around the edges. There’s a group of clouds with words stapled over, clusters of beachy accents and I love the way she incorporated her photos as if they are coming out of the Polaroid camera embellishment, so clever! I spotted her idea on the Just Jules Instagram page.

Krislyns vacay getaway layout has fun wide borders with 3 layered pics in the center and some embellishment clusters. The top border has thin and then thicker pattern papers with flowers in between, the bottom border has wavy cut papers added, which is a simple way to convey the ocean in a design, along with tropical leaves peeking out and a mixed title. Find directions on the Creative Memories blog.

Lisa wonderful layout starts with an ocean pattern paper for the background and she drew faux stitching around the edge for some whimsy. She then added rows of die cut red pattern paper circles with distressed edges mounted onto white with each circle containing summer and beach embellishments. There’s also a cluster of flowers behind the title. I love this red, white and blue color scheme for the beach! Learn more at the Simple Stories blog.

Lisa also created this stunning layout with a sunset photo on the beach which seems to be the inspiration for the design. There’s a large “wreath” of thin strips of pattern paper to create her own custom sunburst pattern with some black marker dots. She also added hand cut blue flowers and the title from blue sticker letters to tie it together. I came across her idea on the Bella Blvd. Instagram page.

Ali’s beautiful design uses a large title die cut that incorporates a big sun that she cut from white cardstock and backed with pattern papers, notice how the papers transition from red to green with the big yellow sun behind, it’s a great use of patterns! A few clouds and birds were added to finish her sunny scene. Find more info at the Scrapbook Adhesives by 3M blog.

Using photo strips like Stephanie did here gives you room to included lots of photos with still lots of room to design. She included strips of pattern paper vertically behind those photos with an acrylic sentiment up top. There’s also a fun summer list of must dos and sentiment strips at the side. I came across her layout at the Color Cast Designs Instagram page.

You don’t need lots of beachy products to created a beachy layout, Ashley incorporated ferns and florals with her ocean themed paper and embellishments for a monochromatic blue design with touches of red. Smaller 8×6 layouts don’t need a lot of decoration and are quick to create is you’ve got lots of photos to go through. Learn more at A Cherry on Top blog.

I don’t normally think of pastel pink and blue for a beach layout but when you pull colors from your photos it works perfectly like on this sweet design. I call this a + layout with pattern papers creating a plus sign on a clean white background with clusters of embellishments scattered around. I spotted this on the Echo Park Paper Instagram page.

Shannon’s amazing double page beach layout uses lots of cardstock and dies to create a large scene across both pages with a sandy beach with a chair, umbrella, seagull and shells with wavy pattern paper and the stunning sun and rays along the top. Find more details at the Stampin’ Buds blog.

Rochi created a beautiful beachy wreath using dies and fussy cut elements that surround her large photo. She added extra character by inking the dies, layering some flowers and including gems as well. She used lots of pretty pattern papers for matts at the base and around the photo too. I hope this summer you’re able to enjoy all the joy of going to the beach!
