I was thinking about some Red, White, and Blue post to commemorate the 4th of July (America’s Independence Day) when something occurred to me…. not everyone who reads this blog is from the U.S. AND, such is the shame, do not have the day off to enjoy the fireworks. It got me thinking about the underlying principles of this holiday……Freedom and Self-Determination.
I have been noticing more and more that Scrapbookers are getting the courage to wriggle free from the constrains of “traditional” 12 x 12 albums and are exploring new and innovative ways to document the moments of their lives. I think we will be seeing a lot more of this as folks give themselves permission to be different and use their scrapbooking supplies and materials in untraditional ways. I saw this lovely project on CRAFT Magazine’s Blog and thought, this is just perfect! What an amazing way to keep all those tidbits in your head and enjoy the freedom that comes with making something from scratch for yourself (self-determination). I know, it’s a huge stretch but, I wanted to share Rachel’s handiwork and get you thinking about new ways to preserve your memories. Have fun!
