Documenting life as it happens often times relies on the ordinary to jog our memories….you know, napkins, matchbook covers, paper towels, duct tape, old receipts from our “Kostanza wallets” to jot a quick note on. In my world, I have 3 little children who say and do the darndest things and yes, there are too many to remember without some sort of help. My family has long since teased me about writing on my hand to remember something or using a crayon on the grocery bags to preserve some amazing thought.
I think many folks wait for the perfect materials to recreate the moment however, what people do not remember is that as time goes by, the memories change and the facts get fuzzy and we are left with a picture and us wondering why we took it in the first place. Use the stuff around you to tell your story, be a journalist getting the scoop and taking notes because NOTHING compares to the first hand accounts of a noteworthy event.
Incidentally, you can find out how to make this loverlie little ditty here….
