Twinkle Toes

August 11, 2008 by sarah hodsdon

I have noticed glitter in a lot of places lately…decking out lay-outs and adding bling to embellishments. My friend Crafty Chica created a FANTASTIC line of glitters you can find at Michael’s that are pretty special too. There is something about glitter that just makes people feel like a rock star I suppose. In my house, it has always been about the glittered shoes….

A while back, as my husband, 3 children, and I were leaving a movie theater, my daughter held up traffic at the exit by exclaiming to all that the twinkling pavement was her doing because she was wearing her sparkle shoes and some of the glitter must have fallen off as she was dancing. I was appreciative that the crowd was so understanding and that my daughter was just so charming and cute at the moment that everyone seemed to forgive her. One gentleman pulled her aside and gave her a dollar and told her that he was just so thankful for her consideration and that everyone needed some twinkle in their lives. He and his wife were holding hands and looked as if they had been married many happy years and perhaps had a grand-daughter our daughter’s age somewhere who adored them. I will never forget that story because it is such a great example of how the little things we do in life can mean so much to someone else and bring them joy. Find someone special in your world and give them a little sparkle.
