As the summer is winding down it’s time for the kids to head back to school. Don’t forget to document that first day back with a fun layout like this one using products from Echo Park. The graph paper makes a perfect background and notice how all the frames behind the 2 photos look like file folders with tabs. Clusters of cute school themed images and a spelled out title finishes off the design perfectly.

Wendy pulled the pink and orange colors of her photo into her darling Pumpkin Patch layout. Her page had loads of texture with layers of torn Fall pattern papers that she inked on the edges for top and bottom borders. On the bottom border are a farm scene and stacks of colorful pumpkins with the title and along the top are cute woodland animals. The photo is backed with tags and some sentiment strips. Even as an adult I love going to a local Pumpkin Patch in the Fall, not only to buy beautiful pumpkins and gourds to carve and decorate with but also for apple cider, homemade pumpkin treats and walking through the corn maze. If you and your family enjoy a good stroll through the patch be sure to snap lots of pictures of those amazing memories you’ve made to scrapbook later on those chilly Autumn days. Jessica created a marvelous mixed media layout for her pumpkin patch visit. There’s a large polka dot pattern paper base with a layer of orange striped paper that she stenciled over top using purple ink for some circle and golden paste for some stars. She added cheese cloth behind her photos and used foam tape to pop up part of her die cut title. Find step by step directions at A Cherry on Top blog.
Sophies wonderful pet at the patch page has so much pattern and dimension along with lots of small embellishments. She placed layered fishtails of pattern papers horizontally along the background matted the pic in pattern paper as well as added a stitched tag. Scattering small accents around the design adds movement and is a great way to use up small items. Take a closer peek at the Pinkfresh Studio Instagram page.
Krislyn’s mostly monochromatic orange layout has such fun patterns! Along one side is a wavy vertical border with pointed strips of pattern papers down the side, along with a large pattern paper circle for the background. Over top she placed her photos along with sunflowers, leaves and a banner embellishment. Find instructions at the Creative Memories blog.
Ashley also used lots of pretty pattern paper for her patch page with a plaid background and dark vellum corners. She mounted her grid of 4 photos on pumpkin paper with a strip of yellow down one side, over that she put a punched vine with pumpkins, a strip of sunflowers and her tile, there’s also a few Fall stickers scattered around too. Giselle’s layout has a bit of a dark and spooky feel that I adore! There’s torn spider web paper and stamps, a pumpkin wax seal, vintage looking frames and tags, pumpkins, butterflies and leaves, all layered in the center behind the photos with a touch of splatter as well. I came across her idea in the Arden Creative Studio Instagram page.
The clean white background with all the action on the center on Sophies wonderful layout draws the eye right in to all the color and pattern. She matted two pattern papers, tearing some edges and placed the photo off to one side and added lots of sweet embellishments like pumpkins, acorns and mushrooms on the other. Pamela’s double sided pumpkin patch layouts have wide pattern paper borders along the bottom leaving lots of room for matted photos. She also used some fun techniques like dry embossing for the teal plaid and stamping and coloring for the group of pumpkins, there’s also labels for journaling and a large colorful title. Kimberly created a delightful large pumpkin from several ovals of orange paper to serve as a matt for her photos. She’s also tucked in lots of colorful die cut Autumn leaves and added title and sentiment stickers and a little wheelbarrow embellishment too. I spotted this on her Making Memories In Thyme Instagram page
Jana used lots of fun embellishments and on her cute lil’ pumpkin page. There’s stickers, wooden buttons, frames, tags tied with twine, stamping, pattern papers and hand written journaling. Stephanie created a stunning background for her design applying streaks of Distress Paints in a plaid pattern on textured cardstock in warm Fall colors. Around her photo she included die cut and stamped pumpkins in a pile, in a basket and carved into a Jack O’ Lantern with stalks of corn and a stamped sign along with a die cut alphabet title. Here’s another terrific design from Ashley with a fun and easy way to add multiple patterns and more color on a page. She used a double sided pattern paper and simply folded it over, it also makes a really cool pocket to tuck in photos! She also included a few Fall stickers and a place for journaling.
