Advent Calendar + December Daily 2 in 1

November 16, 2015 by Francine Clouden

Combine your Advent Calendar and December Daily into one beautiful and simple project. Magali explains how she did this by:

1. Decorating 24 pockets, once for each day of Advent

2. Placing a tag with an activity for each day in the pockets

3. Hanging all 24 pockets from a frame

As her family completes each activity, she will take a photo and add it to the tag. So incredibly simple and doable!

The blog post is in French, but Google translate should help you to understand all the steps. There are also lots of photos to inspire you!

I am in love with that frame! Do you know where I might be able to find something similar?

I found the frames! I’m disappointed that it’s plastic. I’ll be keeping my eye out for something sturdier. 🙂

Yep, plastic. I got one from Ikea, and it’s not the best quality but it works!

80’s Inspired Boombox Shaped Mini Album

I was a teen in the 80’s so this totally rad Boombox shaped mini album from Traci really speaks to me! She created a rectangle shaped black acrylic album with rounded corners, adding buttons and a handle on the top with a cover decorated to look like a real boombox with speakers, a tape deck, buttons and more. She used the Totally 80’s collection of products from Simple Stories that has lots of bright pink and teal colors with cool 80’s inspired patterns like black and white check and colorful graphics. There’s also load of fun embellishments like a Walkman, high top sneakers, retro TV, camera, hair spray can and more.

I had huge hair in the 80’s and am embarrassed to admit how much Aquanet hair spray I used!

Traci has included her totally tubular signature flaps and pockets in the album too for some radical interactive elements too.

Visit the Artsy Album blog to learn more about this bodacious mini album project.
