These fun journaling pages have polaroid photos, printed dies and piece of paper ephemera from a trip to the lake. I love the loose and easy “junk journaling” style with lots of layers! I spotted this idea on the Lazy Day Journal Instagram page.
Rebecca captured a fun day at the pool on her lovely layout. She’s got lots of pattern papers for a unique background with different sized strips across as well as fish tails going down. I love the “sky” she created with suns and clouds! There’s also dimension from chipboard elements, brads and enamel dots too. Learn more at the Simple Stories blog.
Heather echoed all the beautiful blue from the water into the rest of her layout, adding pops of yellow for contrast. The wash of watercolor on the background and die cut bubbles gives the perfect watery feel and there’s also some texture from torn papers. I spotted her idea at the Scrap the Boys Instagram page.
Wow, check out the amazing background Dorymar created for her boating layout! She’s added yellow torn pattern paper at the bottom for sand, blue waves for the water with more die cut wavy darker blue paper and then a bright yellow sun at the top. She also tucked in some palm trees and beachy elements too. Take a closer look at the Bella Blvd. blog.
You don’t always need to use blues for water layouts, this pretty page used lots of pink, with pops of teal. This digital design has rows and layers of summery squares of faux cardstock and pattern papers with fun embellishments around the layers of photos. I spotted this layout at Going Batty’s gallery at Scrapbook.com.
If you can’t make it to the beach or the lake nothing beats a fun jump in the sprinkler in the yard! This cute layout pulls the orange and blue from the photos into a large hexagon shapes behind the photos and a die cut sentiment with blue splashes, all cut with a Cricut. I spotted this fun design on the 3 Sons and Aster Instagram page.
For the background on her wonderful snorkeling double page spread Jayma used inking and a stencil to create her water and sun rays background. She also inked her die cut letters for the title and stamped and colored cute sea creatures too. Watch her process video at her Playing with Paper blog.
This fun lake life layout has cool borders top and bottom with a film strip feel. Inside each opening is either pattern paper, journaling or photos with the large photo in the center of the design, with a thin border of waves and buoys with a couple of dangling embellishments too. Take a closer look at the Creative Memories blog.
Another great Summertime activity with water is a good old fashioned water balloon fight. This joyful digital layout from Traci has a rainbow color scheme background with loads of circles filled with photos, journaling and fun elements like rosettes, flowers and swimsuits. Find this and many other designs using this collection at the Traci Reed Designs blog.
Sue’s Lake layout has a masculine, nautical feel with lots of plaids and stripes with blues, grays and a pop of red. I love the Lake Life sign title she created for the center with dimension stickers, thick twine and brads! Find all the details at the Paper House Productions blog.
Erin created an awesome custom watery background using an ink smooshing technique. Over top she layered papers with a Tropical feel, also adding clusters of die cut and stamped flowers and leaves. Visit her Crafty Concepts with Erin Instagram page for more info including a tutorial link.
I hope you’ll find some time to enjoy some Summer splashing in this year!
