This lovely layout used light teal and pale pink (a very trendy color combo) for a soft and sweet Mother Daughter design. There’s also touches of woodgrain, lacy doilies, butterflies, ribbon lace and floral papers that all work perfectly together on this pretty pastel page. I spotted it on the Not Just for Boys Instagram page.
Now that Winter is almost behind us and Spring is shortly on the way it’s time to start leaning toward softer colors in our scrapbook layout designs and of course pastel colors are always popular for Springtime, no matter the subject that your scrapping about. So today let’s check out some pretty pastel layouts that lean into subtle pinks, soft lavenders, cool blues and pale greens.
Below each photo you’ll find a link, click it for more details including tutorials, techniques and products used.
A Spring wedding is the perfect time to pull out those pastels. Ali used pink and blue (it’s not just for babies!) with romantic vintage inspired papers and embellishments featuring roses, butterflies, keys, tickets and ephemera with some faux stitching added too. She breaks it all down at the Simple Stories blog.
Pretty pastels are also ideal for Spring Gardening layouts like this page that’s blooming with flowers. There’s a grid of four photos, each matted with different pattern paper and the title in the center. It’s offset with a section for framed journaling, a floral 1/2 border and more strips of pattern papers. Take a closer look at the Creative Memories blog.
Tarrah’s pretty layout has two wide side borders of pink pattern paper with small scalloped edges and a white center. Across that center she added all her elements at an angle with two framed photos on the ends and the acrylic title and journaling strips filling in between with flower and butterfly accents too. Find all the details at the Bramble Fox blog.
Kimberly’s planner page has nice soft colors with scenes she created with clear stickers, using stencils to draw spaces for journaling and photos. The other side has a clear floral printed acetate overlay with letters traced and cut from printed vellum over a page with more places to document. Watch a quick video at the Cocoa Daisy blog.
Paige’s stunning double page layout is a wonderful fantasy garden with a row of photos across both pages, grassy hills wavy cut from green pattern paper and lots and lots of flowers. She made the tall flower stems from thin strips of pattern paper, topping each one with printed flower dies. There’s even more flowers tucked into the grass too! This darling design uses a soft background pattern paper of geese with a fun journaling card and fishtail strips of pattern paper, most colors are pastel but there’s a little rust thrown in which actually works really well with the paler colors to create a nice contrast. The black and white photos are go well with this color combo too. I came across this layout on the Echo Park Paper Instagram page.
Karlla’s beautiful page has lots of white space with pops of pink and blue. In the center is a stitched heart filled with white and gold sticker letters with the title highlighted in blue and pink. There’s also lots of folded and sewn floral frames and some floral chipboard around the photo. Find step by step directions at the Pinkfresh Studio blog.
Adri’s stunning layout has lots of layers in lots of pretty pastels! This mixed media design has lace, 3d flowers, glitter, chipboard elements, stenciling, laser cut flowers and more. I love the mix of soft florals and butterflies with hard clock work and hardware pieces. Find more info at the 49th and Market blog.
And of course when talking about pastels we can’t forget about sweet baby layouts. Jana’s adorable design has blocks of different pattern papers for the background, clusters of florals near the cute photos with bees buzzing around and a little Winnie the Pooh sitting with the title. Learn more at the Simple Stories blog.
This darling doggy design from Julie has popular teals and pinks with pops of wooden embellishments for a nice balance. This layout also has amazing depth and texture with stitching, wood and acrylic accents, fabric buttons, ribbon, doilies, patches and more. Pop on over to the Hey Little Magpie blog for more info.
And last but certainly not least is this wonderful layered layout from Brianna. She used lots of fun elements like washi, rub-ons, paint splatter, stitching, punch outs, frames and more for this page that has so much depth, dimension and texture. Watch her process video with helpful layering tips on the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog.
I hope Spring is headed your way soon and will inspire you to use up all those pastel papers and embellishments in your stash!
