Right away you notice the beauti-FALL large Autumn title on this layout from Stephanie. She die cut it from white cardstock and backed the detailed FALL letters with pattern papers. I love the textured stenciled leaves colored with shimmer paints on background too! Take a closer peek at the Paige Taylor Evans blog.
When creating scrapbook layouts there are generally three things you’ll probably want to include: photos (of course), journaling and a title. The titles on our scrapbook layouts might just be a few words but they can express so much, easily evoke emotions, share important information and simply and quickly convey the vibes of the design. Large titles can really grab attention, they can be used as a fun design element and are also a great way to fill space on a page if you’ve only got a single photo. So let’s take a dive into some great scrapbook ideas that use large titles as a focus.
Below each photo you’ll see a link, click it for more details like tips, tutorials and products used.
Large numbers are great for drawing attention to dates or years for a birthday. Becki used colorful numbers, words and balloons for her cheerful birthday layout with fun pattern papers, border trim and a large stitched center circle to draw the eye in. Find more info at the Simple Stories blog.
This fun large Summer title on Tarrah’s layout is a nice wide center border, cut from white and backed with different colors of pattern papers and she added to the title with smaller words below. Above is a large sun die cut and the sweet photo. I love all the cute little critter stickers she used on the title too. Learn more at the Doodlebug blog.
I adore titles that mix and match fonts, sizes and styles, it really adds an extra flair to the design. Inessa created a fun teen selfie page with a cool large title, lots of pink, girly images and florals. Take a closer peek at the Bella Blvd. blog.
This darling Dino layout from Keely has a large title cut from green cardstock and sewn around with green thread. It really pops over the dynamic design that has a colorful inked background, color wheel, torn paper, fussy cut clouds, sticker letters and lots of layers. Find out more at the Pretty Little Studio blog.
Oh, Boy! This terrific title on a Disney layout from Julie has a unique title with black upside down tags, each with a different pattern paper letter, a punched eyelet at the bottom and more letters dangling on thread below. And check out all the stamping she added with colored stamped splatter and lots of tiny stamped words. She breaks it all down at the Hey, Little Magpie blog.
This fabulous layout from Cassie uses a large die cut that has the sentiment in the center with attached photo frames all around. She backed her letters with colorful cardstocks and took the frames one step further by turning them into shaker elements and adding the smaller photos over top of each section. Find all the details at the CutCardStock blog.
Akizo designed a digital layout with three photos and the large title that goes all the way down the layout and around the photos. I love the teal and yellow color combo and the fax washi tape she used! I spotted her page at the Akizo gallery at Scrapbook.com.
One great way to create a custom large title is with large letter stamps. Tai stamped her letters with black Staz-On ink (perfect for slick surfaces) on vellum and layered it over blue and white patterned paper as a compliment to the large photo on a double page spread. Take a closer look at the Layle by Mail blog.
Debbi’s title is not only large but also dimensional because it’s made with thick acrylic words, she also added some sticker letters to expand on the sentiment. There’s even more depth from dimensional embellishments and acrylic star and hearts shapes too. She shares the details at the Bramble Fox blog.
Vicki’s wonderful Wander title fills almost the entire page with letters hand cut from pattern paper with hand drawn lines around the edges. Behind the title she added some rub-ons on the white background as well as tucked some foliage and butterflies in too. I came across her idea on her Vicki Scraps Instagram page.
One fun way to incorporate your photos with a large title is to add them to the actual letters like Melissa did on her sweet baby boy double page layout. Round pictures are perfect stand ins for the letter O! Find directions over on the Creative Memories blog.
I hope you’ve discovered some new ways to include larger titles on your scrapbook designs!
