Susi’s lovely layout has a vibrant row of flowers along the bottom with trendy colorful arches popping up. Inside the arches are sentiments and inside each “channel” are round photos that actually slide for a cool interactive element. And let’s not forget all the wonderful butterflies, cut from washi tape, flying all around. Learn more at the Pinkfresh Studio blog.
With Spring comes new life, baby animals, blooming trees, beautiful flowers and sprouting plants and around the same time you’ll also start to see beautiful butterflies fluttering all around too. Now’s a great time to incorporate Butterflies into your scrapbook designs. They can be used for so many different styles and occasions, use a couple as accents or fill your entire layout with their beauty. Today let’s take a look at some pretty layouts that include Butterflies.
Brianna’s amazing page has rustic elements like dried flowers, vintage lace and butterflies. The bold rose pattern paper works well with the faux stitched burlap layer overtop, that’s been carried over to the chipboard elements of more flowers, layers of old papers, textured lace and doilies with butterflies in neutral shades clustered around the photo. Debbi’s lovely mother and child page has lots of die cut white hearts backed with trendy teal, pink and red pattern papers. The background has stenciling, stamping, and stitching with some gems too. Along with a post box and envelopes flying about there’s also thick acrylic butterflies and hearts in the same color scheme. Find more info at the Bramble Fox blog.
I love how each of Kirei’s photos looks to be mounted on vintage clipboards, so cool! Each clipboard also has lots of vintage inspired embellishments like flowers, tickets and of course a couple of butterflies. There’s also fabric hearts, hand written journaling and sweet sentiments on the page. Take a closer peek at the Hey Little Magpie blog.
Natalie’s amazing monochromatic purple layout has lots of mixed media elements. There’s a distressed and inked film reel, die cut feathers and trellis, lots of rub-ons, paper tearing and a large vellum butterfly. Find a link to her process video over on A Cherry on Top blog.
Woah, isn’t Jennifer’s layout breath taking!? On her base there’s lots of splatters and colorful inking with a large butterfly die cut from white cardstock and stitched around the edge on one side. In the center is the photo with the title spelled out in a rainbow of sticker letters but the stand out is the left side. She’s filled it with loads of butterflies fussy cut from pattern paper, folding up the wings for a ton of dimension. Find more details at the Paige Taylor Evans blog.
Tarrah created a wonderful whimsical wreath of butterflies around her circular photo. Using printed dies and stickers she surrounded the pic, folding some of the wings up for dimension. Don’t you just love how some of the butterflies are flying away from the wreath with stitched lines behind them? So clever! Find more info at the Doodlebug blog.
Neftali’s beautiful layout has a soft, lacy look with layered butterflies. She die cut delicate, detailed butterflies and layered them on top of each other, adhering them in the center so the wings float up. In the middle is the photo with some small leaves, flowers and the title tucked around. Learn more at the Cardstock Warehouse blog.
Sandra’s soft and dreamy design uses printed acetate butterflies and water marks that are perfect for layering, giving some subtle see through color. There’s pale pattern paper layers on the sides and under the photo and wooden buttons to give it some hardness. She breaks it all down over at the Altenew blog.
I love the mix of hard and soft on Andrea’s layout. There’s vintage patterns, old clocks, photo reel, a compass and an old school wooden card catalog with labels balanced out with pretty florals and sweet butterflies. It appears as though the butterflies are escaping from the opening drawers for nice movement on the design. Find a link to her process video at the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog.
Here’s another lovely wreath page, this time from Lorilei. She sketched circles for the base adding die cut and fussy cut butterflies spaced around the circle, notice show she stitched the centers of them to hold them together and give dimension. There’s also splatters, a doily and come wooden circle embellishments as well. Take a closer look at the Hip Kit Club blog.
And let’s end with Allison’s jaw dropping layout! She used a swirling snowflake sketch as the starting point but used butterflies instead. She fussy cut a rainbow of them from pattern paper creating her ROYGBIV color scheme that works so well with the bright photo and title. Check it out at the Allison Davis 4 SG blog.
I hope you’ve been carried away on the backs of all these amazing butterflies!
