Summer Blog Party

Adornit is having a week-long Summer Blog Party starting this week – Wednesday, July 29. The blog of Georgana Hall, Adornit president, is the place to go to participate. On Day Two of the Blog Party, there will be a challenge/contest using a PageMap from Becky Fleck. The deadline for entering the contest (by sending links to posts showing layouts) is August 5. The randomly-drawn winner will win a nice Adornit prize package. This will be part of a fun week of sharing tons of ideas from Adornit.

And don’t miss Day Three (July 31st) which is a blog hop involving over 70 bloggers including Stacy Julian, Wendy Smedley, and more. The theme of the blog hop is Summer Favorites, and each blog will display a layout or project.

80’s Inspired Boombox Shaped Mini Album

I was a teen in the 80’s so this totally rad Boombox shaped mini album from Traci really speaks to me! She created a rectangle shaped black acrylic album with rounded corners, adding buttons and a handle on the top with a cover decorated to look like a real boombox with speakers, a tape deck, buttons and more. She used the Totally 80’s collection of products from Simple Stories that has lots of bright pink and teal colors with cool 80’s inspired patterns like black and white check and colorful graphics. There’s also load of fun embellishments like a Walkman, high top sneakers, retro TV, camera, hair spray can and more. 

I had huge hair in the 80’s and am embarrassed to admit how much Aquanet hair spray I used!

Traci has included her totally tubular signature flaps and pockets in the album too for some radical interactive elements too.
