Posed photos have their place, but I tend to prefer using candids for my scrapbooking pages. I admit that I cringe when I see a parent interrupting a child in the midst of playing to say “smile for the camera!”. Plus we all know that what you get in that scenario is a face like this one
So, just say no to posed photos! But how do you capture natural smiles and real enjoyment in photos of your kids? In the last year or two of taking photos of my son, I’ve picked up a few tricks to ensure that I get more photos like the first one shown, and less cheesy grins or monkey faces.
