Kira’s homeschool layout uses an array of wonderful cardstock colors, cut into strips and stitched down the layout for a colorful background. Notice how she left the “tails” of the thread loose for some added texture and she also matched the letters of her vertical title to the color of it’s strip. Learn more at the Cardstock Warehouse blog.

It’s time for the kiddos to head back to school. Whether it’s their first day of kindergarten, their senior year of high school or they are heading off to college you’ll want to take photos of this special time to scrap about. Get pics of them heading out the front door, showing off their special first day outfit, getting on the bus, meeting up with friends in front of school, meeting their newest teachers or that first night of homework. Let’s take a look at some fun Back to School layout for  a little knowledge and lots of inspiration.

Andrea’s layout focuses on what the child is most excited about, music and reading, using snippets of vintage books and music sheets in squares around the edges. There’s also elements that make it very school oriented like using chalk, cork and Scrabble letter tiles. Find more details at the Mosaic Moments blog.

Jayma’s sweet layout focuses on a single pic of both kids ready to head to school. There’s layers of pattern papers, clusters of embellishments, the year, stamped accents and stenciled brick wall background and stenciled ruler on notebook papers too. Watch her process video on the Playing with Paper blog.

I love how Kirstie cut her photo out and placed it on a dark background, it’s very graphic and eye catching! She placed it in front of a locker embellishment with a backpack, stack of books and clock. The grade in white and the journaling with a white gel pen also really pop! Take a closer look at the Katie Hadfield Designs blog.

Debbie’s digital design shows the neighborhood kids waiting for the bus, with her high schooler pretending not to want to stand with the middle schoolers. She included tabs next to her typed journaling, photo corners and slightly tilted stacked pattern papers for the background. There’s more details at the Get Scrapped blog.

Paige used the best known icon for school, an apple, in a large open die cut with the Back to School words all backed in a rainbow of pattern papers. Her teacher photos are off to one side with some sentiments and a cluster of school related embellishments, she even had space to squeeze in some journaling. She breaks it all down at the Paige Taylor Evans blog.

Laura was able to get 5 pictures on her back to school layout, printing all but one in black and white, that’s a fun way to highlight your favorite pick in a bunch. She created her background by layering strips of pattern papers for lots of color and pattern, using thick gold glitter stickers for the title and year add some nice sparkle too. Find more info at the Laura’s Crafty Life blog.

Ashley kept her page pretty clean and simple with just 2 pattern papers on the background, so it focused on her photos. There’s a notepad embellishment she used to journal on, a border across the top with a sign, backpack and banner and a few teen stickers scattered around. Watch her process video at the Scrappy and I Know It blog.

Tegan’s sweet first day layout uses lots of bright and primary colors with wide striped borders top and bottom. There’s layers of school related papers behind the photo, a typed journaling card and I love the star embellishments she created by die cutting stars and adding stickers and stitching on them! She breaks it all down at the Doodlebug blog.

This cool back to school design used darker colors of green with pops of yellow and red which works so nicely for boyish layouts. Print pics in black and white if the colors clash with your supplies. There’s a wide layered border across the middle with 3 large clusters of embellishments, the rule of three also works perfectly here too. You can download free instructions at the Echo Park Paper site.

Christi’s layout is so fun and colorful with a pattern paper background that she added on to with larger die cut school supplies. But the best element is the title, she die cut a rainbow of colored pencils to go down in a row, adding letters and numbers for a cute custom design. And lastly is this double page spread for college, using the school colors is an easy way to begin the design. These 2 layouts have pattern papers with simple borders, stamped fireworks, a die cut monthly title and banner along with hand written journaling. This is part of a monthly series of layouts from Stampin’ Up!

I hope your kids have a fantastic new school year!
