Beach Day Focal Layout

August 6, 2020 by Heather Holbrook

Beach Day Focal Layout

A quick and easy way to create a focal point on your layout is with paper. These two papers form a loose arrow pointing straight to the photo, drawing the eye in and anchoring the layout. A title and some embellishments is all that’s need to finish off this simple but impactful page.

Make a Scrapbook “Page” Inside a Tin

Make a Scrapbook "Page" Inside a Tin

I love scrapbooking “off the page”, meaning something that’s not on a flat common sheet of cardstock to go inside of an album and doing something really non-traditional! Well, this project from Aline really fits the bill with a scrapbook “page” inside of a small metal tin,  it’s so cute and clever!

Using the Sweet Summer collection from Simple Stories she placed picnic themed pattern papers on the inside top and bottom of the tin decorating it with stickers and chipboard elements (that can fold down and pop up) along with a fussy cut photo to create a darling scene.

She also decorated the top of the tin with pattern paper, more chipboard, words and metal acrylic buttons, adding a sentiment strip on the side of the tin.

Visit the Simple Stories blog to see more of the project and how she put it together.
