Add Hidden Journaling and Photos to a Scrapbook Layout

A really fun way to add an interactive element to your scrapbook layouts is with hidden journaling. Antonia added a couple of different secrets on her travel page like adding a top opening envelope under the photo on the top right so an additional photo on a journaling card can be slipped inside. Also two of the arches of pattern paper behind the photos are die cut fold out “doors” that can be opened to add more photos underneath and journaling on the inside back of the door. In addition to these hidden elements this design has even more depth and dimension from chipboard accents and puffy letters for the title.

I was a teen in the 80’s so this totally rad Boombox shaped mini album from Traci really speaks to me! She created a rectangle shaped black acrylic album with rounded corners, adding buttons and a handle on the top with a cover decorated to look like a real boombox with speakers, a tape deck, buttons and more. She used the Totally 80’s collection of products from Simple Stories that has lots of bright pink and teal colors with cool 80’s inspired patterns like black and white check and colorful graphics. There’s also load of fun embellishments like a Walkman, high top sneakers, retro TV, camera, hair spray can and more.

I had huge hair in the 80’s and am embarrassed to admit how much Aquanet hair spray I used!

Traci has included her totally tubular signature flaps and pockets in the album too for some radical interactive elements too.
