12 Scrapbook Layouts with Photo Strips Inspiration

Aline’s tall thin layout is perfect for long photobooth inspired strips. Black and white or sepia tones not only stand out against the pretty floral patterns but they also harken back to real photo booth pictures. She accented her design with chipboard shapes and words, word tabs and metal buttons too. Learn more at the Simple Stories blog.

I’m not sure how many still remember old fashion photo booths? You and your friends would pile inside a booth and it would snap a bunch of photos and print them in a long strip. Or how about getting your photos printed and having strips of black and white negatives? I see lots of scrapbook inspiration from photo booth as well as old fashioned film strips and negatives used as inspo in new and modern ways. You can use editing software to place photos all together when you print them or you can simply place a row or overlap your of photos closely together and get the same look, no matter how you incorporate them photo strips are a fun and easy way to include a lot of pics on a layout. Let’s get inspired by some fun examples!

You can still get the photo booth look with just two photos like Rochi did here. Having photos taken in sequence is another nice way to add to the effect. This lovely layout also has a row of stitched heart pockets filled with embellishments, puffy alphabet letters for the title and some floral dies around the pics. Rows of photos work so well on double page layouts to tie the two together and make a more cohesive design. Suzanna’s fun pages even have a film strip edge stamped on one end along with lots of stars, tags for journaling and pretty pattern papers in yellows shades that work so well with the teal background. Jana’s pretty pastel page has three photos taken in quick succession in black and white. There’s lots of fun and goofy word bubbles, cameras, color wheels and lots of feminine florals that work so well for a mom and daughters selfie photo shoot. I spotted her idea on the Hip Kit Club Instagram page.

Allison slightly staggered and overlapped her row of photo across a double page spread. The background is fantastic with angled strips of pattern paper, each one stitched in black along the edges. There’s also typed strips for the journaling and fun sentiments and hearts scattered around too. Take a closer look at the Allison Davis 4 SG blog.

Kat’s wonderful Winter Wonderland layout has each of the photos looking like photographic proofs in frames of blue and grey tones. Around the photos are lots stamping for the sentiments, the title, date and labels with a wash of blue ink behind them. I came across her layout on the Elle’s Studio Instagram page.

Some companies even make film strip dies like Andrea used on this darling baby boy layout. This design has a whopping 15 photos, each in it’s own small section with the strips staggered across the page. She added strips of polka dot paper above and below with the lower areas having journaling in each one too. Find step by step directions at the Mosaic Moments blog.

You don’t normally see photos cut off but it really works in this design from Niki. She placed her pic in a long row, slightly angled on the page, cutting off the photos on both ends. She clustered lots of embellishments around them, even adding one more photo below along with hand written journaling and a thick acrylic title. I spotted this page on her Nicki Claire Creates Instagram.

As we’ve seen film strip layouts will work for any occasion or theme, here Adri made a wonderful Halloween double page spread. Notice how there’s a balance between the two sides, the center is grid paper with spider webs on the ends with long stripes of pattern or scalloped edged papers between. There’s matching die cut spider webs, clustered scenes on the ends and a large orange block in the center. Take a closer peek if you dare at the 49th and Market blog.

Nicole’s festive Christmas layout has everything at a slant, with rows and rows of pattern paper strips, some with sewing, and her rows of photos at the same angle too. There’s also strip sentiments and words with simple embellishments that don’t fight with the busy background. Learn more at her Colie Bing Instagram page.

12 Scrapbook Layouts with Photo Strips InspirationJill’s fun NYC trip layout has a fun pocket with foiled glasses and her title that she’s tucked in a photo strip, extra photos, tickets, tags and other travel ephemera. Notice how she added interest to the design by keeping most everything left of center. She breaks it all down at the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog.

Jessica’s colorful mixed media layout has her rows of photos on tall thin tags tied with embroidery floss. There’s a bright wash of paints and stamping for the background behind the large die cut title. There’s also lots of little flowers, gems, sticker letters and more. I spotted her idea on the Shimmerz Paints Instagram page.

I hope next time your scrapping a lot of photos you’ll give this photo booth and film strip inspiration a try!
