Of course you’ll want to add shimmer and shine to stars on a layout! Dana’s fun design uses a constellation pattern paper with foiled open stars to hold each photo that have been connected with twine to form a custom constellation. There’s also shiny star stickers and glue dots with gold glitter added. Find all the details at the Scrapbook Adhesives blog.

Stars can be used for many different occasions and themes on your scrapbook layouts from birthdays, graduation, camping. Halloween, Christmas and so much more. So let’s take a trip to outer space and check out layouts featuring stars.

What should you add to a starburst design, why stars of course! Allison created a half starburst from rays of pattern papers, adding amazing stitching details and included lots of small popped up punched stars. There’s nice balance from the photo and journaling in the white space. Find more info at the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog.
Using a free sketch template Birgit created this girly birthday layout with lots of pinks, reds and purples, pulling the colors from the birthday girls shirt. The scallops and fun title add a sweet touch too. Get the template and see more examples at the Kate Hadfield Designs blog.
Sachiyo created terrific graphic stars and pinwheel using pattern papers for a music inspired layout. The rays of paper give the design a nice movement and the stars can be cut from any paper so you can customize them for your page. Find templates and directions at the Creative Memories blog.
Erin’s fun pool layout has so much movement with a stenciled sunburst on textured cardstock, a row of arrows, curling twine, a zig zag title and shooting stars. I love the orange and blue color combo! Take a closer look at the (Not) Just for Boys Kit Club blog.
Lisa used a star cut file that almost fills the background with stars. She backed the openings with different pattern papers and stitched around the edge of each star for a very dynamic design. Letters and butterflies both with faux stitching add even more to the sewn feel. Find all the details at the Paige Taylor Evans blog.
Wow, look at all these stars! Charity’s design has loads of shiny stars cut from blue and gold foil papers. I love the variety of embossed, flat and punched stars in different sizes and styles, along with the large swirl cut from foiled star printed paper and star pattern paper background. Ali’s Project Life pocket pages for Christmas have glittery white and gold felt stars scattered all around the double page layout on photos and journaling cards, it’s a simple way to pull the eye around the design. Notice how she adhered them with gold brads to add even more shine too. Take a closer peek at the Ali Edwards Design blog.
Many countries flags have stars making them the perfect element to include on patriotic layouts. Tai created a USA 4th of July page with fussy chevron stripes and blue stars with red letters for the title and fun little fireworks, small flags and splatter. I came across her idea on the Fancy Pants Designs Instagram page.
Rachel cut wavy strips of sun and star pattern paper for the background of her sweet boyish layout. She also added dimension with chipboard stars and puffy star stickers, adding some foam tape behind some of her embellishments too. I love the tiny word strips that follow the wave, so cute! Find out more at the Cocoa Vanilla blog.
The puny “Nailed It” title is so funny and perfect for a finger nail layout. It’s also covered with tons of stars on the pattern paper, some more stars are stamped and others are punched to create movement, color and fun to the design. Take a closer look at the Bella Blvd. blog.
Stars are also great for nautical and travel designs like on this cool digital layout. It’s got “layers” of stars that look to be cut out and stacked but of course since it’s digi so it’s flat. There’s also so many little elements including many more stars tucked in and around the focal point with faux stamped stars on the background. This page uses products from Traci Reed.
I hope you keep looking up to the stars for inspiration and use them on your next scrapbook layout design!
