Here in the States we just celebrated Mother’s Day so it’s the ideal time to scrap all those photos of your Mom, all those Mother figures in your life or of yourself (with or without the kids) if you’re a Mom too. Florals and pastel colors work so well for feminine layouts but don’t limited yourself, draw inspiration from the photos or personalize them with what your Mom loves to do. Let’s capture all the joys of Motherhood through favorite photos, don’t forget to include journaling and some creative paper crafting to celebrate Mom. Here’s some terrific examples to help get you started.
A lovely day by the water with Mother and daughter is captured in this design with soft pastel yellows and greens. The two photos are surrounded by die cut scalloped circles of pretty pattern papers and coordinating cardstocks with sentiments, flowers and bows tucked in two. Joanne’s gorgeous design is inspired by nature with a bold floral background paper and loads of layers over top. There’s 3D and chipboard flowers, wooden elements, many sentiment strips, several tags, small frames with words and a thick acrylic title for lots of depth and dimension. Karlla’s darling design focuses on a new Mom with sweet baby pics and lots of pastel colors. She created a couple of tags with words and domed brads as toppers, there’s a banner, baby clothes, flowers, pins and bees in clusters along with heartfelt sentiments as well. Andie’s layout was inspired by a sketch with long stripes of different pattern papers across the background with the Mom and kids photos over top. I love how she layered the floral paper at an angle over a small star paper, adding fringe around the edge, it adds great movement. This family picnic for Mother’s Day focuses on the photos with a journaling card and a wide side border. The border was created with strips of layered pattern papers in bold color and graphic design in rich colors matching the outfits in the photos with some punched scalloped edges. Gloria’s pretty layout is so feminine with lots of different patterns, bright colors, tea pot, florals and hearts. The group of photos is balanced by strips of pattern papers with the Mother’s Day title in the center. There’s also sentiment strips and typed journaling as well. Gather the family together for a large group photo, it’ll make your Mom so happy! Debbie’s sweet page has layers of strips of different pattern papers, some with scallops, to create a wonderful design behind the big photo and a die cut sentiment on the yellow polka dot print.
