Have you ever heard the term “spoopy”? It describes something that is both a little cute and a little spooky and is frequently used around Halloween for things are are just a little bit scary but also have a bit of a whimsical touch. I think this mix up of cute and creepy works really well for Halloween scrapbook layouts so today let’s check out some Spoopy page designs.

Niki used pastel colors and some pretty flowers along with a large cut out of Oogie Boogie from Nightmare Before Christmas for her fun layout. There’s also lots of spiders, Jack O Lanterns and ghosts too. I love the torn edges, it adds great texture. Take a closer look at the Simple Stories blog.
Pink and black are a terrific color combo for a cute and creepy layout, especially for girlie designs! There’s spooky bats, black lacy doilies, lots of sparkly gems and tiny hearts too. I came across Kim’s wonderful layout at the Paper Issues Instagram page.
Jessica cut and foiled purple bats and large numbers to add shine to her darling double page design. There’s also chipboard letters and stars, pretty pattern papers, a cute spider with googly eyes and a spider web. Watch her process video at the Therm O Web blog.
Stephanie’s colorful Halloween layout has a large die cut EEK in the center over a cool Distress Ink blended and splattered background. Loose twine ties up two tags, there’s flowers but also a skull and spiders with lots of fun sentiments. Visit the Paige Taylor Evans blog for a closer peek.
A fun way to fill up a page is to repeat the title. Ashley repeats the Trick or Treat die cut title cut from black three times going at an angel down the page with letters backed with different pattern papers. The bright colors, tiny stars and little balloons add some whimsy to her design. Learn more at The Cherry on Top blog.
What’s cuter than a baby in a Halloween onesie? Not much! This darling design from Heather used a row of die cut pumpkins for a border, polka dot pattern paper, a rainbow with more colorful patterns and a spook bat and sentiment. I came across this idea at the Peartree Cut Files Instagram page.
This sweet Halloween at Disney page made by Rebeca uses products from Bella Blvd with loads of printed dies like scattered candy, happy ghosts, a haunted house and jolly pumpkins with several layers of pattern papers. I spotted her page in her Rebeca Ruiz gallery at Scrapbook.com.

With deep orange and black pattern papers and printed embellishments there’s a bubbling cauldron card, lots of smiling ghosts, spooky spider webs, jolly Jack O’ Lanterns and even cute skeletons. Pops of pink and a hand sketched feel to the embellishments adds some sweet touches to Erin’s layouts. There’s plenty of creepy witchy touches too like potion bottles, bats, brooms, a hat and die cut shapes of spider webs and a spooky house. This adorable digital layout from Amanese has soft pastel oranges, greys and black with lots of pretty faux flowers and buttons with super cute little witch and black cat images. I love how she added a scalloped frame just over part of the photo, it really draws the eye in! I spotted her idea in her AmaneseFe gallery at Scrapbook.com.
And sometimes the cutest element to include is the photo like this funny face little guy painted up for trick or treat. There’s lots of layers and texture on Marie’s design with torn paper, inked edges, tucked tags, frames and labels, letter that looks to be wrapped in black crepe and some paint splatter. Find more info at the 49th and Market blog.
I hope you’ve been inspired today to mix and match some cute and spooky design elements on your Halloween layouts this year!
