On this fun camping layout Jen mixed florals and plaid pattern papers to reflect both the boy and girl in the photos, adding trees and camping element stickers and dies for a terrific outdoor design. Visit the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog for more info.
As Fall approaches and the weather is getting a little bit cooler it’s a great time to venture out into the great outdoors for activities like camping and hiking. The leaves will be turning so take a long hike and check them out, the nights will be chilly so it’ll be nice to (safely) set up a camp fire and roast some marshmallows, put up the tent and spend the night outdoors. All of these are an opportunity to take some amazing photos and are fun things to scrap about this time of year! To help inspire you to create layouts for camping and hiking I’ve gathered up a terrific group of ideas.
Beneath each picture you’ll see a link, click it to find more details like products and techniques used.
This clean and simple layout uses a pre-printed Instax frame around the smaller photo and stamping for the title. The typed journaling stays in tune with the simple, graphic nature of the design. Visit the Kerri Bradford blog for more info.
Jen took woodgrain pattern paper and cut it into cool tree shapes for either side of this cool camping layout. I love how she added the little bear to the branch and hung the photos on a line with little clothes pins, so adorable! Visit the Bella Blvd. blog for a closer look.
A paper bag is a terrific base for creating a rustic camping mini album. Inside Jenn has created lots of interactive elements like flaps, accordions folds, extra photos tucked inside the bag opening and more. Take a look at the entire project on the Wild Whispers blog.
Ok, I know this is a Christmas layout but I had to include it for the adorable camper die cut. I bet you could change it up a bit and decorate this camper for so many different occasions and seasons. Visit the Paige Taylor Evans blog for more details.
A traveler’s notebook is the perfect style and size to dedicate to an entire camping adventure. Natalie created her album with pocket pages, interactive transparent page, handwritten journaling, little page tabs and more. I love this section with the collection of tiny photos all on one page! Check out her process video at The Cherry on Top blog.
Katrina created an adorable little camping critters scene and patterns on this layout using stamps from Catherine Pooler. She also add lots of shimmer and shine to the design with foiling too. Visit the Therm O Web blog for step by step directions.
Wow, Niki created her own tent by sketching and then cutting it out from pattern papers for this amazing layout backdrop! She added two matted photos with clusters of embellishments and the title along the bottom so much of that great tent element still shows. Visit the Being Scrappy blog for all the details.
This page has terrific pictures of plants found along a hike. I adore the border across the bottom made with folded squares of paper and little nature punches tucked behind! Visit the Kayrn Crops blog for all the info.
Here’s another design that uses a cool camper die, it’s set in a scene with die cut trees and grass with a glittery title. The stitched strips of blue paper create a fun background and the black and white photo is has clusters of fun camping embellishments all around. Visit the Hip Kit Club blog for a closer look.
Jayma is sharing some great tips and tricks for resizing your photos to smaller sizes so it’s easier to include more pictures on a layout like she did with this double page camping spread. Visit the Jayma Malme blog to watch her video.
And lastly here’s another amazing mini camping album. Traci create a 2 ring binder album decorating the cover with pattern papers, stickers and ribbon and inside are lots of interactive pages with fold outs, flaps and pockets. Visit the Artsy Albums blog to check out her entire project.
I hope these project have inspired you to create some wonderful layouts and mini albums around your next camping and hiking trips!
