If you enjoy going to scrapbooking crops, attending classes at a local shop, going on scrapbook retreats, have a bestie who comes over to be creative in your craft room or maybe you’re part of a creative design team then you’ve probably made lots of crafty friends along the way. There’s nothing better than someone that shares your passion for scrapbooking and spending time together with them working on projects. Today let’s celebrate the friendships we have with our crafty friends with some layout inspirations.
Sheri’s layout has her photos layered with color wheels, film strips, a prize ribbon, a banner, circles and stars with some soft inking behind it all. There’s also a large scrappy die cut title partially backed with pattern papers. I spotted her idea on the Not Just for Boys Instagram page.
Don’t forget to snap pics of the projects you’re working on together. Susi’s page has a fun background with a rainbow of paper strips stitched to the background for color and texture. Each strip has coordinating colors of artsy embellishments along with her photos and a fun sticker title at the top and sentiments on bottom. Find directions at the Pinkfresh Studio blog.
This fun double page spread has a woodgrain background with a row of photos and a journaling card in the center with scalloped borders top and bottom. On one side of the row is the word “create” on a horizontal and on the other end are crafty supplies with some flowers for a nice balance of hard and soft elements. Erin also created a double page layout, hers has a marbled brown for the background with blue and lacy white hexagons behind the photos, of which she got 3 on each page. It’s accented with die cut flowers and Western themed accents that go along with the theme of the event. I spotted this idea on her Crafty Concepts with Erin Instagram page.
Karyn used a scalloped border punch to create a rainbow border off to the side of her photos. Each section is punched from different pattern papers and backed with a black layer of cardstock so they stand out. Her background paper is a black and white floral for some design but no colors to compete with. Find more info at the Karyn Crops blog.
Paige’s layout says it all with a very large “Crafty Friends” die cut title cut from white and backed with different colorful pattern papers, she added flowers tucked around it too. I love how the title has different crafty tool incorporated into it, so fun! She placed her big photo below it and added some floral corners and a subtitle as well. Jackie used a sketch as a jumping off point for her layout. I love how she took a “selfie” but with all her crafty companions in the background, it’s a fun way to make yourself stand out from a crowd! She’s included a tag for journaling, some stitching, domed buttons and a thick acrylic title for texture and dimension. She breaks it all down at the Hey Little Magpie blog.
As seen on Sarah Jayne’s layout you don’t need supplies with crafty items to create a layout. Her clean and simple design has a horizontal row of pattern paper strips with lots of pretty flowers tucked in and around the photo with a custom sticker title and hand written journaling. I spotted her page on the Sarah Jayne Creates Instagram page.
And last but not least is Andrea’s sweet design with lots of geometric prints for the background and many color wheels too in shades of orange and pink, such a fun color combo! She’s also included items like a clipboard behind the pic, prize ribbon, metal clip, measuring tape, torn notebook paper, prize ribbon and more.
