Colorful fishtail flags cut from pattern papers line across under a scalloped border on this birthday layout from Niki, she even used some of them for journaling on too. The bright colors continue on the sentiments and title which are perfect for a childs birthday. Take a closer look at the Being Scrappy blog.
Everyone has a birthday, they come around once a year and we usually get together and celebrate with family and friends and snap lots of pictures of the festivities which makes it a no brainer to scrapbook about. We especially go all out for the kids in our lives on their birthdays so I thought today we’d take a look at some layout ideas for children and teens.
Below each pic you’ll see a link, click it for more info like tutorials, techniques and products used.
This dynamic birthday layout has lots of depth and movement from rosettes, banners and streamer ons printed papers and borders in coordinating oranges and blues. Alphabet stickers are a wonderful way to spell out Happy Birthday! Learn more at the Creative Memories blog.
Large numbers are a terrific way to mark the year of the birthday like Nadine did here. She printed and cut out a large #7, cutting out the center and backing it with pattern paper. She added coordinating colors of paint swipes along the background too. Find all the details on the Lolli Pop Box Club blog.
Suzanne used blocks of pattern papers in primary colors stacked and staggered for the background of this teen birthday layout. I love how she used the stripes on one of the papers for journaling, so clever! There’s also fun party stickers scattered around too. Take a closer look at A Cherry on Top blog.
This fun 3rd birthday layout from Jessica uses lots of green with gold foils from Therm O Web for the numbers, tiny stamped sentiments, lots of small embellishments and wrapped twine for a terrific monochromatic design that has loads of texture. Find all the details and the Creative Scrapbooker blog.
Bold and bright primary colors are perfect for kids and teens birthdays, this one has a pop of popular teal too. Nicole created the large balloon sentiment in the center with a stamp colored to match her pattern papers. She separately stamped “thrilled” on pattern paper and cut it out for a fun switch up. Learn more at the Trinity Stamps blog.
Pink, glitter and flowers are perfect for a girly birthday layout like this sweet one from Jana! This colorful design has room for two large photos, a journaling card, big title and touches of glitter all around. Find all the details at the Scrapbook and Cards Today blog.
Squares might seem like a simple shape but there’s so much you can do with them. Karlla cut different pattern paper squares and stacked them up, turning some on their points for a fun layered background effect. A row of photos, a popped up title and birthday embellishments are all on top. I came across her idea on the Simple Stories Instagram page.
Erica created an amazing background for her birthday layout with thin strips of papers in a rainbow across the layout. Staggering the placement and leaving the edges unglued adds nice dimension and texture. And fun chipboard shapes add even more depth. Learn more at the Scrapbook Adhesive blog.
Pastel colors are also a go to for little one’s birthdays. Neftali die cut a large “Happy Birthday” from white cardstock, adding different pretty papers behind each letter. She also added watercolors to the torn and splattered background along with a garland of circles and dimensional butterflies. She breaks it down on the Paige Taylor Evans blog.
Cassie created an amazing background for her birthday layout using a rainbow of cardstocks punched with border punches and layered for a lacey look. The big bold 17 in white with black stitching really stands out over top of the colors. Take a closer look at the Cut Cardstock blog.
Jennifer went tall with this 8 1/2 x 11 layout with colorful striped, text and birthday candle pattern papers behind the two photos. The balloon, confetti and starburst add wonderful movement to her design. There’s even a tag for hidden journaling too! I came across this layout at the JenMc72 Instagram page.
I hope your kids have wonderful birthdays this year! Now go scrap them!
